Discover Amontada
Located 200 kilometers from Fortaleza, on the western coast, Amontada is a young city. Founded in 1985, it celebrates four decades of independence this year and its main strength is tourism. Popular not only for kitesurfing, but also for relaxation and buggy, fat bike and quad bike rides, its beaches have become more structured, with good accommodation and gastronomy options.

How to get there
Almost halfway between Fortaleza and Jericoacoara, Amontada is referenced by the respective airports (FOR and JJD). By land, the CE-085 is the main access – it connects the city to the capital of Ceará, which has several bus schedules departing from its bus terminal.
Where to stay
Amontada offers a variety of accommodation options, ranging from rustic inns to charming hotels. Many of them are by the sea, in charming Icaraizinho and Praia de Moitas.
What to eat
There is no shortage of options here either, especially when it comes to fish and seafood. Traditional recipes from Ceará cuisine are given new interpretations by chefs. It is also worth taking advantage of the beachside stalls, with snacks and cold drinks.
What to do
Icaraizinho de Amontada

Golden sands and crystal clear waters are the perfect combination for those looking to relax amidst beautiful scenery. Icaraí (which has been affectionately nicknamed) also offers ideal conditions for kitesurfing. The old fishing village now has several hotels, inns and restaurants.
Moitas Beach
Moitas also began as a fishing village and maintains a rustic atmosphere. The surrounding area is full of colorful cliffs. In addition, it is possible to stroll along the Aracatiaçu River and its canals, through mangroves. One of them has the suggestive name of “Tunnel of Love”.
Caetanos Beach
Deserted, Caetanos invites you to relax and recharge your batteries. The region offers visitors the beauty of the “Lençóis Cearenses”, an immense expanse of dunes that is one of the state’s natural treasures.
